Trying to save the family money is nearly as important as generating income for the family and the person who spends a little time searching for bargains can usually find them. Many an online store have email lists and send periodically send out coupons for everything from half priced books and fifty percent off your entire purchase price at the craft store to ten percent off your purchase of grapes if you buy a half price bag of apples too. Coupons are great, but it's not hard to find online stores that specialize in selling half priced books, DVDs and cds. Sometimes, these books and movies are the older titles but if you haven't read it or seen it, then you've really gotten a bargain.  Outlet stores and stores specializing in close-out sales dot the Internet and give the savvy shopped another avenue to saving. An altenative way to hang on to as much money as you can is to look for used items, especially textbooks, heavy winter clothing and household items at thrift stores.  Many times, unwanted and unopened gifts end up at resale shops and they are an excellent bargain, if you need the item. 

Seasonal sales in some of the large department stores that have online sites as well can really be money savers.  True fashion mavens want to have the latest style first and but, most people can get by with a new coat that was purchased for a bargain price at the end of the last season. Baby and children's clothes at end of the season sales can be so cheap they feel like the shopped is stealing. There's nothing like the feeling one gets when one provides the needs of the family at an affordable, even bargain cost.
